Horses generally respond really well to the natural pain relief of Osteopathic treatment. Although similar to humans it is as well that they have a couple of quiet days following treatment, so take this into consideration when booking an appointment.
Unlike humans, animals need vetenary referal for Osteopathic treatment. This is because although i am well trained to work with and treat horses I do not have a vetenary qualification to diagnose horses. This is normally not a problem, and just requires a phone call to your vet to attain permission for me to treat your horse. I am happy to liase with your vet and keep them informed at all times.

Osteopathic treatment can help to treat musculo-skeletal problems in horses such as, Degenerative joint disease, Tendon & Ligament injuries, lameness of sometimes unknown cause. Osteopathic treatment has also been known to help bad tempered and difficult horses.
I use a rang of techniques when i am treating horses, it depends on the problem and on the horse. Generally i use soft tissue work (deep massage), mobilisation, articulation and manipulation. I also use gentle cranial techniques which are well excepted by most horses.

Horses don't always have to be very lame for something to be wrong. Your horse may just not feel quite right. They may be slightly unlevel, or not jump as well as usual. Sometimes they get a bit grumpy when your doing up the girth, or maybe they are tense when ridden. All these things may be helped by Osteopatic treatment.
