Osteopathy for Dogs

Osteopathic treatment can also be applied to all types of dog. As with horses all dogs and other animals need to have a veterinary referral before treatment. This is often just a phone call to the dog’s vet asking permission for the dog to be treated. It is useful if the osteopath can talk to the vet before treatment so that they can fully understand what is happening to the animal, what medication they are on and why etc. I would be more than happy to speak to your vet on your behalf.

Osteopathy for dogs is similar to horses. Some dogs have obvious lameness caused by muscle spasms or ligament sprains or muscle strains which can respond well to soft tissue and articulation. Sometimes they are just not them selves.

Working dogs, gun dogs, agility dogs, show dogs, can all benefit from osteopathic treatment, whether they are recovering from illness or injury, or as maintenance to prevent injury and improve performance.

Osteopathic treatment aims to improve circulation aiding a faster and better recovery from injury or surgery, etc.

Osteopathic treatment can also be well received by other animals, sheep, goats, cats etc have all benefited from osteopathy.
